About Us
Dear Cougar Families!
Our teachers and staff have been greeting our students through our new virtual classroom spaces and we are so proud of our students’ enthusiasm for learning. We want all of our students to grow in their academic abilities, feeling strong and secure on their paths to becoming college and career ready. Helping our students feel safe and connected has been a priority for all of us. During this adventurous period of distance learning, every NJHS teacher is
committed to utilizing innovative digital technology tools to help them create and present engaging learning opportunities for their students. Our teachers
use research data to create new best practices, and constantly analyze academic data to determine current skill levels and set goals for growth and improvement.
As a district, our focus is on student engagement, assessments, and socialemotional learning. At the junior high, we are committed to preparing every student for their continuing secondary education so they can find meaningful careers and become contributing citizens.

Opportunities for Monthly Parent Involvement:
- School Site Council Meetings: The 3rd Wednesday of each month, 3:00pm – 4:00pm
- ELAC Meetings: The 3rd Thursday of each month, 9:00am -10:00am
- Principal’s Coffee: The 4th Tuesday of each month, 8:45am – 9:45am
- PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association) meets the 1st Tuesday of each month, 7:00pm – 8:00pm (Contact PTSA.njhs@gmail.com)
I am excited to serve as principal of Newark Junior High School. It is my privilege to be part of a community of students, parents, and teachers who share a common goal: to build and support the academic and social growth of our next generation.
