DRESS CODE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Clothing must cover areas from one armpit across to the other armpit, down to approximately 3 to 4 inches in length on the upper thighs (see image below). Tops must have shoulder straps. Rips or tears in clothing should be lower than 3 to 4 inches in length. In all matters that relate to dress or attire, administration of the school retains the sole discretion to make the final determination whether clothing or appearance meets acceptable standards.

Shoes must be worn at all times and should be safe for the school environment Footwear such as flip flops, sandals, raised heel shoes, or shoes without heel straps are NOT RECOMMENDED and may not be worn while participating in physical education classes and activities.

See-through or mesh garments must not be worn without appropriate coverage underneath that meet the minimum requirements of the dress code. No strapless shirts or tops.

Clothing should cover all undergarments, such as boxer shorts, underpants, and bra straps.

No Hats, Visors, Bandanas, and/or Sport Caps. Beanies and hoodies are permissible, but must be removed indoors. NO Ski masks are permitted at any time.

Potentially dangerous objects may not be worn on school sites (E.C. 48900(b)). Students may not wear any clothing, jewelry, emblem, badge, symbol, or other insignia that:

Advocates, encourages, and/or advertises the use or abuse of drugs, tobacco, or alcohol. (For example: “Cookies” brand or other local dispensary clothing items contain labels and imagery that advertises the use of a marijuana brand and are not allowed).

Expresses vulgarity.

Advocates prejudice or discrimination against people based on race, ethnicity, gender, gender identification, religion, national origin, and/or sexual orientation.

Advocates or encourages violence, weapons, profanity, sexual and/or illegal activity.

Depicts individuals in a derogatory manner as determined by school personnel.

Are a deterrent to safety or detract from the educational process. This includes wallet chains. Wallet chains and other accessories are not permitted because they could be used as a weapon.

Sunglasses may only be worn outdoors (indoors only with a doctor's written medical permission).

Wearing perfumed personal care products may cause an allergic reaction in students or staff. Therefore, wearing perfumed personal care products is discouraged.
Dress Code Violation
In the event of a Dress Code Violation students will be sent to the office and parents/guardians will be alerted to any dress code violation. Students will also be asked to change into appropriate shirts or pants. If they do not have anything to change into, parents/guardians will be contacted to bring appropriate apparel to school.
