Counseling Center

The Newark Junior High School Counseling Center strives to guide students make better sense of their world.

Junior high stands as both an exciting, yet frustrating crossroads for students as they move through various physical and psychological changes on their emergent journey from childhood to adolescence, and to adulthood.

As the school counselor, my greatest desire is to help students develop a positive and memorable learning experience at our school. The school counseling center consists of a variety of services and activities, including individual and group counseling, parent consultation, group guidance, referral assistance to other programs and services in the community, and student assessment.

The counseling center is available to all 7th and 8th grade students before school, between classes, lunch, and after school. Appointments are not necessary.

I strive to ensure that every student has equitable access to the school counseling program, and those who need additional services will be given the opportunity to participate in small group counseling sessions with other students who may face similar challenges.

If students has an immediate need or experiences a crisis, they will be seen for individual counseling.

I am looking forward to a great school year.  Feel free to contact me at any time.
