Good Evening Newark Middle School Community,

We hope that everyone had a relaxing weekend and are ready for the week ahead. With only 13 days left of school, we want to share some important highlights, updates, and information. 

WEEK OF MAY 11

ATHLETICS

CAASPP MAKE-UP TESTING

• Any students who have not completed their CAASPP testing yet, will be pulled into the Library to ensure they have the time and space to finish. 

8TH GRADE PUENTE PROMOTION

• Friday, May 15- Time: 5-7pm in the Gym

 

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE PAST WEEKS

8th GRADE GREAT AMERICA FIELD TRIP

About 200 8th grade students went to Great America on Friday and had a day filled with fun, rides, and lots of memories made with their classmates and teachers. It was a positive experience for all who attended. 

 

 

ADVANCED BAND AND CHOIR PERFORMANCES

Congratulations to our advanced band and choir for their amazing performances at the Music in the Park Festival in Fairfield on April 25th. Both groups received a 1st place trophy in their respective categories.

 

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK RECAP

Last week the teachers and staff were recognized for all of their hard work and dedication for our students at Newark Middle School. Thanks to our wonderful PTSA and local vendors, they were able to enjoy lunches, brunches, room service, and gifts throughout the week.

8th Grade Families: Pre order your Orchid Leis, Premium Flower Bouquets, and more! 

 

The fundraiser (25% on pre-orders, 15% on on-site sales) benefits NMS PTSA (which will be doing all the promotion decorating as well as providing small gifts to special awardees).

 

All online orders will be available for pickup on site the day of the promotion. To retrieve your order, please stop by their booth located conveniently at the entrance to the event before the ceremony begins. Please place your order ahead of time.

• Los estudiantes que aún no hayan completado sus pruebas CAASPP serán citados a la biblioteca para garantizar que tengan el tiempo y el espacio necesarios para finalizarlas.

LO MÁS DESTACADO DE LA SEMANA PASADA

EXCURSIÓN DE OCTAVO GRADO A GRAN AMÉRICA

El viernes, unos 200 alumnos de octavo grado visitaron Great America y disfrutaron de un día lleno de diversión, atracciones y momentos inolvidables con sus compañeros y profesores. Fue una experiencia positiva para todos los asistentes.

 

 

ACTUACIONES AVANZADAS DE BANDAS Y COROS

Felicitaciones a nuestra banda y coro avanzados por sus increíbles presentaciones en el Festival Música en el Parque en Fairfield el 25 de abril. Ambos grupos recibieron un trofeo de primer lugar en sus respectivas categorías.

 

RESUMEN DE LA SEMANA DE APRECIACIÓN AL MAESTRO

La semana pasada, los profesores y el personal de la escuela secundaria Newark recibieron un reconocimiento por su arduo trabajo y dedicación a nuestros estudiantes. Gracias a nuestra maravillosa asociación de padres y maestros (PTSA) y a los proveedores locales, pudieron disfrutar de almuerzos, comidas, servicio a la habitación y obsequios durante toda la semana.

• Pedidos en línea: solo para recoger en tienda. Por el momento, no se permiten envíos a domicilio para eventos de recaudación de fondos. En la sección "Introducir código promocional", ingrese el código: K3TEHK4. No olvide hacer clic en "Aplicar".

Familias de alumnos de 8.º grado: ¡Hagan sus pedidos anticipados de guirnaldas de orquídeas, ramos de flores de primera calidad y mucho más!

 

La recaudación de fondos (25% de los pedidos anticipados, 15% de las ventas en el lugar) beneficia a NMS PTSA (que se encargará de toda la decoración promocional, además de proporcionar pequeños obsequios a los galardonados especiales).
