NMS Puente Description/Mission:
Puente Project Mission - The Puente Project's mission is to increase the number of students who enroll in colleges and universities, earn college degrees, and return to the community as mentors and leaders to future generations.
NMS Puente - The NMS Puente Team works to create a classroom environment where our NMS Puentistas experience multicultural learning, gain college and career awareness, and engage in their school and local community through service.

For Fall 2025, Puente Tutoring will be offered on Tuesdays after school from 2:50-3:35 pm in Ms. Hayani's room (L6) for the rest of the semester. Please see the flyer or reach out to Ms. Cesena (ccesena@newarkunified.org) for more information.

Important Dates:
• Application due: Friday, February 20, 2026
• Student Interviews: Friday, February 27, 2026
• Mandatory Parent Meeting: Thursday, February 19th or Wednesday, February 26th; both at 5 PM. Parents only need to attend one of the scheduled meetings. Presentations will be given in English and Spanish.
• Notification of acceptance: Early March
