Newark Junior High School Counseling

Welcome!

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! We are very excited to be back for full in person learning for this upcoming school year. We hope our new counseling website is a useful resource for all students, parents, guardians, and families. This will serve as a resource to locate information about the counseling department.

As school counselors, we focus on 3 main areas:

  • Academics

  • College/career

  • Social-emotional

Welcome back and we are looking forward to seeing you on campus!

How can I meet with my counselor?

Students may meet with their counselor by stopping by the counseling office during your free time (before school, brunch, lunch, or after school.

Students may also complete a "Student Help Request Form" --- these are blue forms located in your classrooms and in the main office. These are to be used for non-urgent matters. Steps are listed on the form to guide students on how to turn them in. Here is a digital version/google form that students may also complete: Student Help Request Google Form.

Student Request Forms:

Ms. Quiñonez's Student Request Form

Ms. Cesena's Student Request Form

Reminder, these forms are NOT to be used for urgent matters. If you are at school and something urgent comes up, go to a staff member IMMEDIATELY.

If there is a safety issue outside of school, please call 911 for emergencies. For non-emergencies, you may call the Newark Police Department at 510-578-4237.

Parents/guardians: if you need to get in contact with your student's counselor, please send them an email:
