Newark Junior High School Counseling

Welcome!

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! We are very excited to be back! We hope our new counseling website is a useful resource for all students, parents, guardians, and families. This will serve as a resource to locate information about the counseling department.

As school counselors, we focus on 3 main areas:

  • Academics

  • College/career

  • Social-emotional

Welcome back and we are looking forward to seeing you on campus!

How can I meet with my counselor?

Students may meet with their counselor by stopping by the counseling office during their free time (before school, brunch, lunch, or after school. Students are responsible for making up any work/assignments they may have missed in class due to a counseling meeting.

There are digital student help request forms for each counselor. Students, you may submit a request form for your specific counselor.

Reminder, these forms are NOT to be used for urgent matters. If you are at school and something urgent comes up, go to a staff member IMMEDIATELY.

If there is a safety issue outside of school, please call 911 for emergencies. For non-emergencies, you may call the Newark Police Department at 510-578-4237.

Parents/guardians: if you need to get in contact with your student's counselor, please send them an email:
