ONE or more of the following (as stated in E.C. 48204.1 and NUSD AR 5111.1)

• Rental Property Contract, Lease, or Receipt
• Property Tax Payment Receipt
• Utility Service Contract, Statement or Payment Receipt (such as PG&E or Water Bill)
• Pay Stub
• Voter Registration Form
• Correspondence from a Government Agency
• Declaration of Residency Executed by the Student’s Parent/Guardian

Certificate of live birth from the county of birth, not a hospital certificate

If the above is not available, the following will suffice (according to NUSD AR 5111)

• A statement by the local registrar or county recorder certifying the date of birth
• A duly attested Baptism Certificate
• Passport

Immunization records that include:

• Polio – 4 doses

• DTaP/DPT – 5 doses (last doses after the age of 4)
• Measles, Mumps and Rubella/MMR – 2 doses (one dose after the age of 1)
• Hepatitis B – 3 doses
• Varicella/Chicken Pox vaccine – 2 doses
• Test for TB – Tuberculin Skin Test, we need: ▪ Date the test was given ▪ Date the test was read ▪ Result of the TB test ▪ If the doctor deems the TB test unnecessary, we must have a signed statement stating
• TDAP -7 & 8 Tdap is required to start school.

If you are enrolling a student for the first time in Newark Unified for Transitional Kindergarten through 12th Grade.  Please complete the following steps.

1. Please click here to create a ParentVUE account and begin the enrollment process. 
2. Once you submit the registration online, your home school office will contact you to complete the process.  For more information about the additional requirements that are required after you complete the online portion, click here.

If your child is currently attending a school in Newark Unified School District (NUSD), please log into your ParentVUE account and confirm your personal informing will remain the same or make any updates needed. All students currently enrolled in Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade must complete the annual student information update process online on ParentVUE.

New students can be added to your current account.

WHAT IS AN OUT OF DISTRICT TRANSFER?

An Out of District Transfer is also known as an Inter-District transfer. This is needed when families wish to enroll their student(s) at a school that is outside of the District in which they reside OR when parents wish to enroll their students into a Newark Unified School District school but physically reside in an another District's boundaries.

How Do I Apply for an Out of District Transfer (Inter-District Transfer)?

NEWARK RESIDENT

Email the completed form to nlemas@newarkunified.org and be sure to attach all necessary background information including:

•  Grades
•  Transcript
•  Attendance
•  Discipline reports
•  IEP (if applicable)

 

NON-NEWARK RESIDENT

To transfer your student from another district into Newark Unified School District, you must begin the process within the DISTRICT IN WHICH YOU RESIDE. Please contact your current school district for questions and procedures.
